The files have now been sent to the printer and I will receive samples in just a couple of weeks - EEK!

A lot of people that supported my project may have never supported a crowdfunding campaign before. What's really cool about supporting a project from the beginning is that you get to see all the behind the scenes of how it all comes together and get all the extras. I just ordered magnets for the fridge and will be including them as a FREE gift in supporters packages that indicate being connected to diabetes in their surveys. I hope this helps with getting ready in the mornings!

I have also started the editorial review process. This is where you send the book out to reputable book reviewers for an unbiased review that can then help educate readers on If a book may be a good purchase for them. Editorial reviews typically cost money but are important and why having support through a crowdfunding campaign is really helpful with all of the different pieces that come up with creating a book. I applied to Kirkus ($399), Readers Favorite ($0), Reedsy ($50), and Indies Today ($119) which includes entry into their awards program. I am also going to send My Body Beeps! to Midwest Book Review and the School Library Journal.

Last Chance (24 hours) to Order A CUSTOM doll for $99! Don't forget to complete your survey!!!
over 1 year ago – Mon, Oct 21, 2024 at 11:36:36 AM

I've been messaging back and forth with the doll designer and we are ordering the following:

35 Katie Dolls with both CGM + Pump (14 of these are accounted for already)
10 Josh Dolls with a CGM (1 of these is accounted for already)
1 custom doll for Lila our raffle winner (I sent pictures of her to the artist and Lila got to choose an outfit from a selection - she choose such fun PJs for her custom doll)

If you would like to have a Katie or Josh doll for your family - NOW is the time to order/add it on during your survey. I cannot promise that I will order these again as there are minimums and it is expensive to have custom dolls created. Each doll is created by hand in linen and are amazing quality with such attention to detail.

I was able to connect with the artist who is creating the Katie + Josh dolls and will be creating the custom doll for the winner of the raffle. If you want to be entered into the raffle, you need to indicate that on your survey by tomorrow by noon EST. The artist told me that due to how long it takes her to handcraft her dolls, I need to get her the information asap. We currently have 61% of the surveys filled out - I would like everyone who is interested to have a chance to win.

If you haven't yet preordered your copy of My Body Beeps! but would like to: https://my-body-beeps.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders and if you order by tomorrow by noon you will have a chance to win a custom doll to look like your loved one with diabetes.

I will be picking the WINNER of the CUSTOM DOLL in 72 hours - Remember to Fill out your Survey for a chance to WIN!

Other updates: I met with the book designer and looked over everything for the book design. The editor is currently taking a final peek and then the files will be sent to the offset printer to have a sample created. Below is the front and back covers and inside dust jacket flaps.
